The Step by Step Guide to whitelisting an Email Address

whitelist is a list of e-mail addresses or domain names which allow messages to be received by you. It ensures proper delivery of your emails to your Inbox. You can filter authentic emails to your Approved or Safe Sender List. It helps you keep emails from being marked as Spam.

Below are step-by-step Instructions on how to whitelist your email address or domain.

FOR WEB BASED CLIENTS

AOL Mail

  1. Click Contacts in the right toolbar and add a contact.
  2. Enter the email.
  3. Select Add Contact to finish

Comcast mail   

  1. Select the Preferences option from the menu and click on Restrict Incoming Email.
  2. Select Yes to Enable the Email Controls.
  3. Allow email from addresses listed below.
  4. Enter the email address and click on Add.
  5. Select Update to finish.

Earthlink

  1. Add a contact to the Address Book.
  2. Hit save.

Netzero 

  1. Click the Address Book tab on the top menu bar.
  2. Add a contact by clicking on Add Contact.
  3. Enter the email address.
  4. Hit Save.

Gmail

  1. Click and drag the email into the Primary tab.
  2. Confirm by clicking on Yes.

Apple Mail

  1. Right-click on the sender’s email address.
  2. Select Add to Contacts or Add to the VIP list.

Windows Live Hotmail

  1. Open an email that you received from the email address that is to be whitelisted.
  2. Add this domain to your contacts and hit save.

Yahoo! Mail

  1. Right-click the email and add the Sender to Contacts.
  2. Hit Save.

FOR DESKTOP CLIENTS

Microsoft Outlook 2003

  1. Open the email message from the sender you want to add to your address book.
  2. Right-click Click here to download images in the gray bar at the top of the message.
  3. Click Add Sender to Senders Safe List to finish.

Microsoft Outlook 2007

  1. Right-click on the email you received (in the list of emails).
  2. Click Junk E-mail.
  3. Click Add Sender to Safe Senders List to finish.

Microsoft Outlook 2010

  1. Go on the Home tab.
  2. Select Junk followed by Junk E-mail Options.
  3. Click on Safe Senders and Add the new email address needed to be whitelisted.
  4. Hit Ok.

Microsoft Outlook 2013

  1. Right-click on the email that you would like to add to your safe sender list.
  2. Hover your mouse over the Junk option and then click the option Never Block Sender.

Mac Mail

  1. Select Address Book and click on File.
  2. Create a New Card. Enter the email address and all other relevant details.
  3. Hit Edit to save.

Mozilla Thunderbird for Mac

  1. Select your Address Book. [*Note: Make sure your Personal Address Book is selected]
  2. Create a New Card. Choose Contacts from the 3 tabs (Contact, Address & Other)
  3. Enter the email address and all other relevant details
  4. Hit Ok.

FOR MOBILE CLIENTS

Apple iPhone / iPad

  1. Open the email you received.
  2. Click on the sender’s name in the From line.
  3. Choose to Create New Contact. Add all relevant information.
  4. Hit done.

Android Devices – Samsung, Google Nexus, others

  1. In the default email client, touch the picture of the sender.
  2. Click OK to add to contacts.

Android

  1. Click on open email.
  2. Select the icon next to the email address.
  3. Hit Ok.
